Who is up for D&D Miniatures on Sept 11, 2010?

I'm trying to gather info to see who is interested and who will be available.

I don't want to make another trip to Gautier to find 3 players when I bring 2.

I still don't have boosters for a 200 point sealed, so that tournament is less likely.  With that in mind, we might have a chance for the 500 as the last tournament.

We will definately have a 200 point pre-qualifier event as the middle event starting around 1pm.

First tournament had 4 players and John won with his spider hoards, black dragon lurker, and scarrow.

2nd tournament had 6 players and ended with 3 players going 2-1.  Sherry, Ray, and Archie.

We gave away about 6 boosters and some extra minis that players brought.

I'm use to 3.5, haven't started the 4.0, and really don't want to unless that's the game that everyone is playing now.  I've DMed and played a lot of D20 games when I lived in Jackson.  I have one other player, but he's a novice to the d20 system.  I'd like to either start up a group or join one that's looking for a player or two in the Jackson County area, prefer Gautier. 

Is there a regular gaming group in the Gautier area that is looking for one or two more players?  Most of my experience is D20 style games, AD&D and several others. 

Has anyone thought about bringing in a TV so that people can watch the Saints game Saturday at 3:30pm?

I think it would be easiest to simply have everyone bring a few figures, maybe something like 1 rare, 1 or 2 uncommons, 3 or so commons.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I really dislike the idea of buying boosters to bring to prize support.  I'm not sure about everyone else, but I have ENOUGH figures as it is!!!!  I don't want any more.  John and I are actually looking to probably sell or trade off about half of our collection because we simply have too much stuff.

Personally, I think that most people are probably in a similar boat, and I think people would much rather bring some figures to put into a prize pool rather than pay another $10-20 PER MATCH that they play in...

Manny, formats look great, particularly the 200pt theme.

Maybe next time we can look at doing a 250pt team event with 2 people bringing 250 pt warbands, limit 5 figures to combine for a 500pt team.  Something like that.
